Monster Energy® Supercross Racers Visit Seattle’s Children’s
Hospital and Regional Medical Center as part MX for Children Charity
Event
AURORA,
Ill.
(April 24, 2008) – Today the Honda Red Bull Racing and Joe Gibbs
Racing Motocross teams visited Seattle’s Children’s Hospital and
Regional Medical Center to take part in the 3rd Annual MX
for Children’s Inside Line Experience charity event, which is held
in conjunction with the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World
Championship, race at Qwest Field.
Red Bull Honda Racing’s Andrew Short and Davi
Millsaps joined Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross’ Josh Summey for an
exclusive meet and greet with MX for Children’s top fundraisers.
These top fundraisers will enjoy the benefits of the “Inside Line
Experience” at Seattle’s
Qwest Field that also includes watching a private riding session, a
track walk, factory rig tours and premium seating.
"Visiting the children's hospital was high on
our list of priorities," said team manager Jeremy Albrecht. "We have
been planning for it since the start of the season, and taking a
little time out of our schedule was an easy decision. We're just
happy to have the opportunity to put a smile on someone's face."
Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short, who
finished on the podium last week in St. Louis,
added, “This is the second year that I attended this event with my
teammate Davi Millsaps, and we are happy to be a part of this
event.”
Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross’ Josh Summey said,
“As racers, we are fortunate to do what we do for a living, and
opportunities for us to give back to these kids is definitely
enjoyable.”
This weekend’s Inside Line Experience is
expected to raise $75,000 for Seattle’s
Children’s Hospital and Regional
Medical
Center. In addition, the Inside Line
Experience has raised more than $110,000 in
Seattle
during its first two years while running in conjunction with
supercross. MX for Children and Live Nation Motor Sports inc., hope
to see funds raised that would equal that total in 2008. All funds
raised during the event will benefit Seattle’s
Children’s Hospital & Regional
Medical
Center and their research for
hydrocephalus, the leading cause of brain surgery in children.
“The Inside
Line Experience is a win-win for any supercross fan that wants to
help support MX for Children and enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime
supercross experience,” said Paul Gross, MX for Children founder.
“I’ve been overwhelmed at the support that Live Nation and the
entire sport of supercross has provided to this cause over the past
few years.”
The
entire supercross industry continues to support the event with an
abundance of unique items and signed memorabilia that will be put
for giveaway or auction, including the grand prize Team Makita
Suzuki RMZ-250, which the winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday
night at Qwest Field. An additional event will be held at Renton
Motorcycles, where top supercross riders will be on hand signing
autographs.
Pledge
forms can be picked up and raffle tickets may be purchased at
participating Suzuki dealers or online at the official website
http://www.mxforchildren.org.
